Chesterfield Cigarettes 1940s
Monday, August 4, 2008 at 11:49PM
Hindsight is definitely 20/20! Here's a 1940/50s ad featuring Ronald Reagan endorsing Chesterfield Cigarettes. The ad reads:
"I'm Sending Chesterfields to all my friends. That's the merriest Christmas any smoker can have - Chesterfield mildness plus no unpleasant after taste." —Ronald Reagan
"Buy the beautiful Christmas Carton."
The ad also promotes his upcoming movie "Hong Kong" a Paramount Production. I'm sure he regretted this deal when he was having to promote the Presidential fitness program in the 80s. Oops!

Anyone have anymore information on this advertisement? Like where it was originally located, etc.
Thanks!
Was this ad really from the 1940s? I'm wondering if "Hong Kong", released in 1952, was actually being promoted at least two years in advance.
It very well may be from the early 1950s. Don't have an original date - although I know it was from that general time period. If anyone knows the year... please leave a comment!
